The German Federal Government is providing 5.500 places within the EU-Resettlement scheme for the year 2020. The 5.500 persons are included in the national immigration span of 160.000 up to 220.000 persons as agreed upon in the coalition agreement.
The 5.500 places consist of planned resettlement admissions from Egypt, Jordan, Kenya, Libanon and Niger (in total 1.900), the admissions through the humanitarian admission programme for Syrian refugees in Turkey (see above, 3000), the admission through the joint government and civil-society programme for especially vulnerable refugees “NesT” (400) as well as a state admission programme of Schleswig-Holstein (200).
This admission is based on the European Commission’s recommendation to provide a total of 30.000 resettlement places in the EU until December 2020.
The directives relating to the different admission programmes will be published here as soon as they are available.
In the table below you can obtain an overview of the resettlement admissions from 2015 to 2020.
